Woman with perfect skin

Permanent Makeup

The application of permanent pigment is placed into the pores of the skin with a sterile, disposable needle to help naturally enhance the eyes, eyebrows, and lips. By penetrating only into the second layer of skin, it is never deep enough to reach the bloodstream and is perfect for sensitive skin, as the pigment does not contain iron oxide.

This service is ideal for those with sparse hair, alopecia, poor eyesight, physical disabilities, as well as post-cancer patients, athletes, or those who simply lack the time needed to maintain a fresh, radiant look. A doctor’s note and a patch test are recommended for those with a medical condition. An effective local anesthetic is used to ensure you optimal comfort. Treatment takes approximately 60-75 minutes per area, and a complimentary consultation is recommended for pricing and further information.
Permanent Makeup

Is the micro-implantation of coloring pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposes to enhance, contour, and outline facial features. It is also a valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation variances caused by vitiligo, correcting some facial irregularities, or to further enhance facial rejuvenation and post-operative treatments.
Microblading

Microblading is a semi permanent procedure lasting between 6 months – 2 years. Hair-like strokes are drawn on then traced over, inserting pigment with a handheld tool that looks like a X-Acto knife. The procedure can be painful and takes approximately 2 hours to complete.

Touch-up appointments are recommended after 45 days and can take approximately 45 minutes.

A “color boost” is highly recommended every 2-4 years to help restore color that may have been faded by the sun, chlorine, medication, etc. Each “color boost” session includes a fee for only color and a needle. Revisions from previous treatment elsewhere must be consulted first. All touch-up treatments may take up to 45-60 minutes per area.

Lip Micro Pigmentation Post Procedure Care

Micro Pigmentation semi-permanent makeup) procedures are affected by the “canvas” (your skin) that they are performed on. Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery and other procedures, and age of skin all contribute to fading. The initial application is always applied conservatively because every person’s skin is different and the final color can only be precisely determined and adjusted during a follow-up appointment after the initial application has fully healed. Because of this, the micropigmentation process is not complete after the initial procedure. In all cases, a follow-up appointment is required approximately 30 days after your initial application to fine tune and ensure the best result.Though rare, infection is possible. If you see signs of infection such as persistent increased redness or swelling, fever, drainage, or oozing, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Apply ice packs as necessary to prevent or reduce swelling.
  • When the area starts to flake, leave it. Do not pick, peel or pull on the skin.
  • Apply a thin coat of Aquaphor® or white petroleum (such as Vaseline®) to the area twice a day for 3-4 days, before showering and after cleansing.
  • Avoid sweating such as from vigorous exercise for 24 hours.
  • For at least one week post-procedure or until healing is complete (whichever is longer).
  • Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the affected area(s).
  • Do not scrub or pick treated areas.
  • Do not use peroxide or Neosporin on treated areas.
  • Do not expose area to direct sun or to tanning beds.
  • Avoid exposing the area excessive moisture or humidity, such as: facials, swimming, whirlpools (hot tubs), saunas, steam rooms, and steamy showers.
  • Avoid Retin-A, moisturizers, glycolic acids, exfoliants and anti-aging products at all times (not just during healing) on all micro pigmented areas. These can cause pigments to fade and lighten prematurely.
  • Avoid tanning beds, sun, chlorine spas and pools, soap and chemicals (including skin cleansers, makeup removers, alpha hydroxyl creams, and tooth whitening toothpaste) near the treated area until healed.
  • Pigments will slowly fade over time according to one’s metabolism, skin type, sun exposure, medication, facial surgery, and smoking. Schedule maintenance visits as needed to keep it looking fresh.
  • Periodic touch ups will ensure longer lasting results.
Lip Micro Pigmentation Healing Schedule

If you’ve never had micro pigmentation before, there are a lot of unknowns. One of the most frequent questions we are asked is what to expect during the healing process. While every person is different and some heal more quickly or slowly than others, here’s generally what to expect.

Temporary side effects from micro pigmentation include but are not limited to: redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches and tenderness.

You should expect to lose approximately 1/3 of the initial color during the healing process. With this in mind, we have selected the optimal pigments for you. In approximately six days it may appear too light. After about 10 days, the color will show more. It will appear softer when completely healed.
  • Swelling, tender, heavy, thick lipstick look with reddish brick color. For the first few days, the color is darker than it will appear when healed.
  • Slight swelling, reddish, tender, with a slight metallic taste.
  • Less swelling, thicker texture, sore, hot feeling before exfoliation with an orange color.
  • Exfoliation begins, very chapped lips. The color will become lighter as the epidermis sloughs off. It will appear that you have lost all your color, however, when your lips have healed completely, the dermal layer will gradually become darker.
  • Very chapped but almost finished with first chapping stage.
  • A soft, rich color begins to appear.
  • Lip color disappears and the “frosty” 2nd chapping stage begins as a whitish gray haze on the lips.
  • Color blooms from within more and more each day until day 21 (3 weeks post procedure).
  • Healing complete. The color you see is the color that you have. Your lips will remain a bit dry for a month or two. Use a good lip balm and they will return to normal with full color.
Lip Liner and Full Lip Post Care
  • Apply ice for the first 2-24 hours to reduce swelling.
  • Keep moist with Aquaphor or white petroleum or Liprotek for the next 5-7 days, and then switch to lip balm or lipstick with an SPF of 15 or greater as the sun tends to fade lip color quickly.
  • Lips may appear to have too much color in the days following the procedure. You may add makeup to soften the color.
  • Scars on the lips from fever blisters cause pigment removal. See our Pre-Procedure Instructions for lips.
Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I wait before I can have permanent makeup applied after Botox, injectables, chemical peels or laser treatments?
Generally speaking, we recommend to wait at least one week before we apply any permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, or lip liner/color. It may be necessary to wait a few more weeks after laser resurfacing or chemical peel.

Can I have Botox after my eyebrows are permanently feathered and enhanced?
We recommend to wait a few days to let the eyebrows heal completely before Botox is injected. A brow lift should not significantly alter the shape of a permanent eyebrow.

Should I have my eyes lifted before I get permanent eyeliner?
And what happens to my permanent eyeliner when I have a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift)?

The permanent eyeliner is applied directly in between the eyelashes and doesn’t move or change when the eyelid is surgically lifted. Therefore, it doesn’t make any difference whether you have your eyes lifted before or after the permanent eyeliner is applied.

Can I have Restylane or Juvederm injected around my mouth after a permanent lip liner procedure? Will it change the look of my lips?
Restylane or Juvederm can be used to further enhance the fullness of your lips and to diminish the appearance of lines around the mouth. The lip liner will not “run” or feather into the vertical lines around the lips.

Is permanent makeup similar to tattooing?
It has some of the same qualities, yet it is very different. Only specialists in micro-pigmentation can perform this procedure on the face; tattoo artists cannot. Permanent-Line uses only the techniques, tools, and pigments specifically designed for micro-pigmentation procedures, making it safe, sterile, and painless. Permanent makeup clinicians also use effective topical anesthetics that are not allowed for use by tattoo artists. Permanent-Line uses instruments much more delicate in design that provide natural-looking results.

Is permanent makeup a safe procedure?
The procedures are performed under sterile conditions, using only disposable needle cartridges and with digitally controlled implantation device. There are no long-term side effects; short-term effects may include some redness, swelling, and tenderness. There are no known allergic reactions to pigments.

Is there any discomfort associated with the procedure?
Unlike in tattooing or some other type of permanent makeup salons , we uses topical anesthetics that are highly effective to be applied to the treated area which significantly reduces discomfort. Typically, patients will report a tickling sensation with little or no discomfort during or after a procedure has been performed. Please be aware when booking a lip procedure, if you have ever had an outbreak of fever blisters at any point, you must consult with your doctor for a prescription of Valtrex or similar product prior to your procedure.

How long does the procedure take to complete?
The average time required for a procedure is between one to two hours.

What kind of healing time is involved? Is any care required after the procedure?
Some swelling and redness can be expected for up to 24 hours following a procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean. No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up appointment. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning or swimming should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing times is between four to seven days.

Is the procedure guaranteed?
We want our clients to be completely satisfied with their results. However once pigment is placed into the skin it can not be removed.  Therefore our goal is to provide natural looking results.  However, adjustments maybe needed from time to time and clients are welcome to return as many times as needed within the first year to have their permanent makeup adjusted paying only a nominal office fee of $150.
